Learning a Wedding Tradition: The Ribbon Bouquet

I JUST LOVE THIS TRADITION! The tradition of creating a ribbon bouquet for the bride at her bridal shower to use at her rehearsal dinner as a stand in bouquet. Each ribbon or bow that was that extra detail on the gifts at the bridal shower is saved for this ribbon bouquet as the bride opens her gifts.
And I only knew about it when we had the Wedding rehearsal of Joe at Secret Jewel Celebrations and she had a funny thing on her hands.
I came near her and said, what is that?
And she just smiled and told me it's my Ribbon Bouquet made from the ribbons on the presents I got on my different Bridal Showers.

Then I just thought I had to share this great idea and this is how I have started the Ribbon Bouquet tradition with my friends. Actually we have just made 2 of them (most of my Friends (the girls) got married before I knew the tradition)
Since in México this is not a tradition we do, I had to have it on my BLOG to give ideas to all those Mexican (or other Country) Brides that can do something different at their Bridal Showers and better Yet give a wedding related activity to that eager aunt or cousin who really wants to help you out with something, have her in charge of your: RIBBON BOUQUET

Now I leave you with Laura Winfree 's Ribbon Bouquet True Story.
It's just so exciting:

I'm an American but I live in Cancun, and married my now - husband Jorge in July 2010.

My entire American family came down to Mexico for the wedding.

My aunts and grandma hosted my bridal shower at their villa in Puerto Morelos (where they were staying),and these ribbons are from that shower. My 2 older sisters made the bouquet and gave it to me on the morning of the wedding, right before the rehearsal. The wedding was at Hacienda Teya in the city of Merida.

I hope you enjoyed reading my Post as much as I enjoyed learning a cool Bridal tradition!

DIAMANT EVENTS in Beach Wedding Design

The story goes this way:

I am friends with a friend of the Bride. In other words a friend of mine from Puebla called me about 4 months ago and told me her Friend Claudia was getting married in Cancun and she needed my help to make this possible.

Civil Ceremony from Bride and Groom's point of view.

So after many changes in decoration, illumination, and other specific details Wedding involved we finally came up with the perfect Design for her Beach Wedding.

She wanted to have a Classic Elegant Wedding but right in front of the ocean and she was very happy when we managed to transform the Beach right in front of Le Meridien Hotel & Spa Cancun where in the morning there was nothing and after the Ceremony in the hotel's Gazebo the Dinner area just shined across the amazing white sand & turquoise waters of the Caribbean sea.

I was honored to be a part of this amazing Wedding.

Hello Kitty Bday Party

Not the usual wedding POST but I got to organize this party for my visiting niece from Switzerland, and I am very excited about the result.

We had it at one of the nicest Hotels in Cancun: Presidente Intercontinetal Hotel and the photos are just too cute not to share.
And I think you can get some ideas of some activities
you can do if you are having kids at your wedding:

We did cool hand painted T-shirts and it took us a couple hours.

And also did a Bee and a monkey lantern activity that was so much fun.

Piñata is always a fun option even if it's not a birthday.

We had an amazing sunny beach day
Happy Bday Sereina!!!

SOME OF THE MOST POPULAR RECOMMENDED

Antirrhinum is a genus of plants commonly known as snapdragons from the flowers' fancied resemblance to the face of a dragon that opens and closes its mouth when laterally squeezed (thus the 'snap').

Astilbe (pronounced /əˈstɪlbiː/)[1] is a genus of 18 species of perennial, herbaceous flowering plants, within the family Saxifragaceae. Some species are commonly known as False Goat's Beard, and False Spirea. Astilbe species are native to Asia and North America

SLEEPING BEAUTY

I recently had to reorganize my life in order to sleep at least 7hrs.
In this busy days sometimes is just not that easy.

So I want to leave this POST for all of you busy girls out there who don't
quite give your body the SLEEP hours it needs in order to have a healthy life!

It is well known that the correct amount of sleep is essential for your general physical and mental health; but what exactly is the right amount of sleep and why is that?

Although it varies slightly according to factors such as age, the general optimum amount of bed time for adults is around 7 to 8 hours, and by spending either too much or too little time in bed you might be actually be risking your health down the line.

Too Little Sleep

Sometimes it isn’t possible to achieve the ideal amount of bed time, perhaps due to work or family commitments (we’ve all been there!) however frequent sleepless nights can have a variety of negative health effects.

Specifically, too little sleep can lead to energy problems throughout the day, which can impair your judgment and is potentially very dangerous if you’re working, for example.

But as well as fairly obvious problems associated with too little sleep, there are also some issues you might not be aware of, for example research has suggested that too little sleep can actually lead to obesity! ( I bet you didn't know that one)

Too Much Sleep

It has long been thought that sleep and especially too much sleep doesn’t have any negative health effects and can even bolster certain aspects of your health such as skin quality, however this isn’t in fact the case; and a University of California study has actually suggested that people who spend too much time in a quality bed actually die younger!

SO THE SLEEPING BEAUTY TALE IS JUST A MYTH???

.... what??

.... YES It is!

So Brides to BE it doesn't matter how many things you still have to Do, organize your selves and get your 8hr sleep. Not only before wedding day is here, but make this a healthy habit that you'll acquire for life!

The ELOPEMENT trend

Now a days more and more couples are choosing the ELOPEMENT
option over the Big traditional marriage.

To elope, most literally, merely means to run away, and to not come back to the point of origination.More specifically, elopement is often used to refer to a marriage conducted in sudden and secretive fashion, usually involving hurried flight away from one's place of residence together with one's beloved with the intention of getting married.

Like Jo & Moses fron the UK

According to www.letsrunoff.com
Your wedding can be personalized, original, un-formulaic. Or at the very least, not catered to everyone else besides yourselves. Imagine your own backyard or dream destination as the setting; neither of those are too likely with a full set of RSVPs. Speaking of guests, imagine just the two of you committing your lives to each other in the sanctity of each other's company or in front of the few people who mean the most to you. An elopement doesn't have to be totally exclusive; it's just that you actually own the guest list.

There are as many ways to personalize your wedding day as there are ways to get married. Ponder getting married on the top of a ski slope, skydiving, in front of a loch in Scotland, on the beach, or at a surprise party in your own home, or at your honey moon trip to the RIVIERA MAYA.

Make your day about the two of you, not about the third party guest lists, not about the most convenient location, and not about a something-for-everyone buffet. It may sound romantic to proclaim your love in front of hundreds of people but how meaningful is it when these people are made up of your mother in law's friends, your partner's boss, your cousin's date?

What ever you decide always have this in mind:

its:
your WEDDING
have it:
your WAY
