2012 GET READY FOR THE YEAR OF THE MAYAS.

As Green Weddings are becoming more and more important due to global warming and pollution, the importance of building up our spirituality as the year 2012 aproaches and making it a part of your wedding ritual will increase rapidly.

So imagine we are in the year 2012 (MMXII)

And it’s a leap year starting on Sunday in the Gregorian calendar.

As you already know this year has brought a variety of popular beliefs;

that range from the spiritually transformative to the apocalyptic,

and center upon various interpretations of the Mesoamerican Long Count calendar.

We are going to focus on the Mayan Calendar,

which states this is the year for the Spiritual change.

And you want to be a part of it.

The BEST way of living the 2012 spirit is in the Riviera Maya. You want to have your wedding on a spiritual year and involving every mystical aspect that this means.

So 2012 is your lucky year because we at SECRET JEWEL CELEBRATIONS www.secretjewel.com.mx have the opening of our

Ecological Healing and Temazcal Center.

You may want to know what a “Temazcal” is. Well the name Temazcal, or temazcalli is made of two Nahuatl words, temas, which means bath, and calli, meaning house.

In Aztec culture, temazcal was not only part of a healing process, but also had high religious and symbolic meanings. The goddess of the sweat bath was called Temazcalteci, and she was one of the manifestations of Teteoinan, the mother of gods. The way in which temazcal were built incorporated the elements of Aztec cosmology and even today temazcal are built following most of the ancient rules.

The temazcal represents a microcosmo and is oriented according to the cosmic directions.
Moreover, the temazacl represents the womb of the mother of gods Teteoinan and it is not a coincidence that it is shaped like a womb and it has a small and low entrance.

Exiting the temazacl represents the bather’s rebirth after a process of purification.

During 2012 we also have wedding packages that include the day before wedding with activities at the healing temazcal center for the Bridal party, including bride & groom.
And the next day an authentic mayan Marriage Ceremony, to complete your spiritual journey.

This packages may also include other Spiritual Mayan activities related to the year 2012.

If interested on more information regarding these packages you can email us at secretjewelcelebrations@gmail.com

We will be more than happy to help you walk the year 2012 with this amazing

experience that will sure help your spiritual travel on our planet.

LIGHTING UP THE SKY

Fireworks were invented in China in the seventh century to scare away evil spirits, as a natural extension of one of the Four Great Inventions of ancient China, gunpowder. Such important events and festivities as Chinese New Year and the Mid-Autumn Moon Festival were and still are times when fireworks are guaranteed sights. China is the largest manufacturer and exporter of fireworks in the world.

Fireworks were first introduced in the United States in the early 1500s. Fireworks were used in the military and also as a major entertainment show during events. There was such an overwhelming response to fireworks, that factories were started everywhere in America, giving rise to more employment opportunities.

So how did they end up in weddings?

Most people think its just for the glam and the beauty of the moment, but actually tradition of scaring evil spirits from bride & groom has always found a way to be a great excuse for a lot of things involved in weddings.

Ask your Destination Wedding Planner about pyrotechnics experts in the area, they will be able to tell you if the wedding venue that you have chosen or your reception site is appropriate for a fireworks display.

Considerations like distance, city ordinances and the conditions of your site all need to be taken into account. If you are set on making sure that you can have fireworks at your wedding, remember to speak with the pyrotechnics expert before you start planning the wedding venue.

Not all venues are going to be appropriate when you are thinking about setting off fireworks. Fire codes and city regulations are two key things for you to investigate.

For venues that do not allow fireworks we have COLD PHYROTECHNY. This are the shots of light that come from the ground and look like a fire shower.
