I have been doing a lot of thinking lately, about a peculiar thing. I live in Mexico, I am Mexican and there are amazing things in my country to have a great elegant but colorful wedding, and yet; there has to come a visitor from another country and be the one that wishes to have a traditional mexican wedding.
With that idea in mind I started to search the web for what has to be the MUST HAVES in any "mexican themed" wedding.
SO HERE WE GO:

2. MARIACHI. No mexican wedding or celebration is complete with out the "Cielito Lindo", "La Cucaracha" and "El Mariachi Loco" songs. Be sure they play the most popular ones they are very fun to hear and to dance with.

3. MEXICAN FAVORS. OMG we are getting to dangerous grounds, I LOVE favors. We have lots of things that can be used such as: Sarape, sombrero, tequila shit glass, maracas. Even traditional mexican candy such as Mazapan o Coconut candy named "cocada" can be great favors.

4. THE MENU. Of course a good themed mexican wedding must have an excellent traditional mexican menu. BUT ... what about if your guests don´t like spicy food, what if they are afraid they wont like it. We have a very EASY TIP for you, so take notes. YOU CAN HAVE A REGULAR MENU. surf ´n turf, chicken or beef, which ever you prefer; just make it an international regular menu.

The TWIST have your cocktail hors d´oeuvres made in BITE SIZE mexican food such as:
mini tales, mini taco, mini quesadillas, mini chimichangas.

6. SEATING CARDS. This is one of my favorite TIPS. Dare to do something different, use mexican bingo called LOTERIA styled cards for seating cards and for table names. This is amazing guests will keep their card as a souvenir of your wedding for sure.

Good to know about this Mexican wedding inspiration. It’s my niece’s wedding next month and searching for exquisite Chicago wedding venues to arrange a grand event. Hope to find a good venue soon and have a lovely time there.
